I will serve the Lord for in Him there is my safety!

Be careful with what you have received from God

I want you to have a deep thought about your life and all the things you have received from the Lord and analyze your behavior before and after you received the things from God. The reason for that is to help you understand whether your fellowship with God is intact or not.

At the time when we need something from God we seem to be too close and we devote ourselves to pray and serve God but it is very unfortunate that after receiving a blessing from the Lord we tend to forget God.

There are things that we have received from God by His divine will and there are things that we have received by asking as the bible says that ask and you shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you, (Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Mat 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.)

Some of us were given natural beauty, created handsome, gifted, and anointed but all these have turned to be a way of disobeying God. The beautiful and handsome ones have used their beauty to promote immorality and wronged the Lord. The gifted have used their gift to develop pride and disloyalty.

Others have received the things they asked from God and all have just turned worse with them. Blessed with money and the money has become an idol, jobs and the jobs have taken all-time for seeking God, family and the family has limited the time for seeking God.

I want us to take a look in the bible for a few examples of the people whom God helped and blessed and later forgot the Lord.

In the book of 1Kings 11:1-4 we see king Solomon whom God had blessed and given wisdom that no one under the sun could compare to but this man misused the wisdom and Kingdom and instead of walking with the Lord like his father David, he ended up marrying many strange women who later turned his heart from the Lord to other gods. He even stopped enquiring of the Lord and enquired from the gods.

(1Ki 11:1 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;

1Ki 11:2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go into them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.

1Ki 11:3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

1Ki 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.)

Jesu healed some ten lepers but only one out of ten was able to returned to give thanks to the Lord. So where were the rest nine? (Luk 17:11  And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

Luk 17:12  And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

Luk 17:13  And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

Luk 17:14  And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

Luk 17:15  And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

Luk 17:16  And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

Luk 17:17  And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

Luk 17:18  There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

Luk 17:19  And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. )

It is a time to thank God and ask Him to help us not to forget Him even after receiving from Him.

Prayer: Father in Jesus name I pray that you help me to remain steadfast in seeking you and serving you regardless of what I am or have received from you. Oh Lord help to use what I have to glorify your name in every state of my life.

He is my friend

Do you have a friend?   Do you know the friend Jesus? Every person tends to have a friend in life and those who lack friends in their lives are considered to be less fortunate in the society or even in the assembly of brethren because the friendship is tagged to a given value or price in life. When people come together to make friends they are aiming at a given objective or goal to achieve. I want us to look unto Jesus Christ as a friend but before that let us learn some types of friends/friendship. We have different kinds or types of friendships in our daily encounters in life as we interact with people. The following are some of just example that we find in the bible: - 1.       Covenantal friends or friendship This is the type where the two or more come together and binds themselves in a covenant of friendship. The aim here is to protect one another from the danger of life and to grant everyone safety. A good example of this from the bible is David...

I will serve the Lord for in Him there is my safety!

Many of the times have you ever asked yourself why God will always deliver us from any affliction or bondage? I believe that we will have different answers one to another, but let us read from the book of Exodus in the Bible when God was sending Moses to set free the children of Israel from the captivity of the Egyptians.  (Exo 3:7)  And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; (Exo 3:8)  And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. (Exo 3:9)  Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress th...

Longing for Zion in a foreign Land

What is the longing of your heart? Where do you desire to be after the life of this world? I know these questions ring in your mind too. As you are working very hard serving God you have some hope just like Apostle Paul said that the hope of his life is to receive an uninterruptible crown that is not given by men but by the Lord Jesus Christ (1Co 9:25  And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. ). I believe we all hope for the crown but just as Paul we must serve labor on this earth serving God and preaching the good tidings which is the gospel or the Goodnews from the Lord Jesus Christ. That hope and longing is godly but it matters the land where you are. The place we long to be with the Lord after this world is Zion the city of the Lord that is full of righteousness of God but we live in a foreign land that is compared to Babylon the rejected land that is full of immora...
