Cultivating a prayer and fasting lifestyle.

A successful Christian believer is he/she whose lifestyle is cultivated in prayer and fasting. Every believer who consistently pray and fast carries much of power. The lifestyle of prayer and fasting gives you power over many things in life.

Examples of  power that prayer and fasting give you include the following:

1.Power to overcome evil one Satan

Luk 4:8  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

2. Power to overcome the flesh

Fasting and prayers help you to connect to the Spirit of God, therefore, the flesh becomes overcome

3. Power for deliverance

Jesus said that some stubborn demons in our lives do not just go easily but by prayer and fasting

Mathew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

4. Power to overcome sin

Through prayers and fasting, you will be able to overcome sin since prayer draws you near to God

5. Power to be bold in the service of God

On some occasions in life as you serve God, you need to develop boldness in doing evangelism work, rebuking sin, expressing the act of faith, and many others.

Peter and the disciples when they were threatened they prayed for God to give them boldness

Act 4:29  And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

Act 4:30  By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

Act 4:31  And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

How to cultivate prayer and fasting as a lifestyle

-Consistent desire to seek God. This will motivate you to pray and fast

Psalm 42:1-2

-Cling to God for grace and mercy. Do not rely on your own strength and ability

 Hebrews 4:16

-Be rooted in the word of God and live the word of God i.e do what the word of God is saying and mean it.

    John 1:1-5

-Seek the knowledge of God through other materials like books and teachings from other men of God who have been cultivating a lifestyle of prayer and fasting.

I believe that the Lord is going to help us cultivating prayer and fasting lifestyles in our lives. May God bless you.

Prayer: Lord I pray that you may help me to cultivate a lifestyle of prayer and fasting in Jesus Name.Amen

He is my friend

Do you have a friend?   Do you know the friend Jesus? Every person tends to have a friend in life and those who lack friends in their lives are considered to be less fortunate in the society or even in the assembly of brethren because the friendship is tagged to a given value or price in life. When people come together to make friends they are aiming at a given objective or goal to achieve. I want us to look unto Jesus Christ as a friend but before that let us learn some types of friends/friendship. We have different kinds or types of friendships in our daily encounters in life as we interact with people. The following are some of just example that we find in the bible: - 1.       Covenantal friends or friendship This is the type where the two or more come together and binds themselves in a covenant of friendship. The aim here is to protect one another from the danger of life and to grant everyone safety. A good example of this from the bible is David...

I will serve the Lord for in Him there is my safety!

Many of the times have you ever asked yourself why God will always deliver us from any affliction or bondage? I believe that we will have different answers one to another, but let us read from the book of Exodus in the Bible when God was sending Moses to set free the children of Israel from the captivity of the Egyptians.  (Exo 3:7)  And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; (Exo 3:8)  And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. (Exo 3:9)  Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress th...

Longing for Zion in a foreign Land

What is the longing of your heart? Where do you desire to be after the life of this world? I know these questions ring in your mind too. As you are working very hard serving God you have some hope just like Apostle Paul said that the hope of his life is to receive an uninterruptible crown that is not given by men but by the Lord Jesus Christ (1Co 9:25  And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. ). I believe we all hope for the crown but just as Paul we must serve labor on this earth serving God and preaching the good tidings which is the gospel or the Goodnews from the Lord Jesus Christ. That hope and longing is godly but it matters the land where you are. The place we long to be with the Lord after this world is Zion the city of the Lord that is full of righteousness of God but we live in a foreign land that is compared to Babylon the rejected land that is full of immora...
