Praise the
Lord beloved of God, Our God is great, mighty, and worthy of all the glory and honor.
Today I desire that we get the word of God concerning the subject above; Grace and
righteousness.
We must
understand what grace is and also what righteousness is. Grace is built on God’s
love and it is the undeserved favor that God gives to us out of His love
without doing anything. In the book of Titus
chapter 3 Paul talks of how we received the grace of God.
Tit 3:1 Put them in mind to be
subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every
good work,
Tit 3:2 To speak evil of no
man, to be no brawlers, but
gentle, showing all meekness unto all men.
Tit 3:3 For we ourselves also
were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and
pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
Tit 3:4 But after that the
kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to his mercy, he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and
renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us
abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Tit 3:7 That being justified
by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal
life.
Tit 3:8 This is a faithful saying,
and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have
believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good
and profitable unto men.
Tit 3:9 But avoid foolish
questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for
they are unprofitable and vain.
Tit 3:10 A man that is an
heretic after the first and second admonition reject;
Tit 3:11 Knowing that he that
is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
Now righteousness
is connected to our obedience to God. Being obedient means observing all the
commandments of God and this must be work out with fear and trembling. In the
book of Mathew chapter 5 the bible talks of having the hunger for righteousness.
Mat 5:6 Blessed are they which do
hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
It is by
God’s grace we are saved but the blessings of God in our lives come when we
live righteously with Him. This according to the book of Deuteronomy chapter 28:1-2.
Let us
therefore learn to walk righteously with our God all the days of our life.
PRAYER: Oh Lord help me to live righteously as I
serve you in Jesus name.
